It’s fresh. It feel like your cool, hipster friend in checkered Vans sneakers wrote this.
It’s not pretentious whatsoever. Not like Trader Joe’s ever was pretentious, but, corporate writing can feel so prescriptive, bland, and serious. The laid back, friendly vibe is so much more approachable.
It’s casual. One of my best tips on honing your voice as a writer is to “write like you talk.” This is a stellar example of that.
